Son #2 playing with a toy I brought for him.
I get asked many times about the orphanage I visited so today I thought I would give you a tour:
Orphanage had a playground….
They celebrated Christmas….
There was a music room….
And a gymnastics room….
We had equipment to use our imagination with….
All the kids have their own beds….
They have national holiday celebrations and parties….
Volunteer groups come in for performances and fun activities…..
This specific orphanage also had a kitchen on site that prepared their 3 meals each day as well as a team of 4 doctors and a gentleman responsible for the maintenance of the building. The “classes” were separated by age groups, with my little guy being in a group of 10 kids ranging in age from 2 1/2 to 6 years old. Each class had a teacher role and a caregiver role and they changed shifts every 8 hours. Music and gym class were led by their own different teachers.
Overall, not a bad little place considering the backgrounds where some of these kids came from, and a far cry from those horrible institutions of the past.
