The saying is “when it rains, it pours”.
This last 7 day cycle was a typhoon:
Mom (all day, every day) – ball hockey, karate, yelling, swimming, feeding, homework, lunches, yelling, bedtime, doctor appointment, cleaning, soccer, referee of wrestling matches, meal planner, grocery buyer, bike riding, bathing, yelling, feeding again, occupational therapy, drop offs, pick ups, consent forms (who goes on a field trip in June??), feeding again, feeding again…do these boys EVER STOP EATING?!?!?
Mortgage broker (every day) – supposed to be my day job but my clients and team members aren’t surprised to get emails at midnight.
HR department (wednesday) – we’re growing again! Hunting for our new team member.
Business partner (tuesday) – decisions made on direction of company
Staff Meeting Facilitator (tuesday)
Social Media Planner (last thursday, wednesday, today) – Organize a photoshoot for new website headshots of 27 people as well participate in 2 conference calls with the marketing team
Economic Forum Attendee (last thursday)
Fundraising Gala attendee (friday)
Birthday Event facilitator for TWIN best friends (saturday)
Car owner (monday) – Windshield CRACKED so obviously, I have to deal with this too….now
Gardener/Farmer (saturday/sunday) – thought it would be nice to plant veggie seeds in the backyard planters with the kids. Let’s see what, if anything, will grow.
Landscaper (sunday) – cleaned up and bagged dead boxwoods seeing that the city was passing by this week and they were taking up precious back yard play space.
Dinner party host (sunday) – sister is back from ITALY – YAY!
Sister (wednesday) – We had lots of catching up to do
Birthday present purchaser (sunday) – twin A, twin B, sister, mother, brother. Yes, all of them have birthdays in this timeframe.
Birthday party attendee (wednesday) – Mom & brother BBQ party – YUM.
Patient (monday) – follow up for my own annual testing – always a joy.
Dog owner (friday) – doggy admitted into vet hospital after three visits the previous week for tummy troubles. Still not 100%
Toxic waster cleaner (last thursday & hasn’t stopped) – see above
Scheduler (today) – Next week’s activities/drop offs/pick ups/events have been planned and verified
Home owner (tuesday) – dealt with driveway and screen doors as well as broken dishwasher and plumbing fixture part which broke off.
Friend (every day) – phone calls to catch up with my favourite people and texts to check in and let them know I’m thinking of them.
Vacation Planner (friday) – booked our accomodation for our summer get-away
Pre-teen advisor (today) – older son is wondering how to ask girls out. He doesn’t know where he’s taking these ladies as he doesn’t drive at the ripe old age of 11, and nor does he have any money, however he feels he must develop the confidence to go through the motion. Note to self: must pass this task on to his dad.
Single woman (friday, saturday) – had to remember what it’s like to fix my hair and put on makeup because I actually went out to non-work social events (involving adults and alcohol!!), without my kids!
And now, this sleep deprived, exhausted zombie is going to bed.
