…as many of us in Canada did for dinner, I think back to this weekend of thankfulness and gratitude.
I am blessed with health and immigrant parents very active in our lives; immigrant mom who insists on cooking enough food to last us all through the week, and immigrant dad who wanted to be part of the TV bunch in the basement and ended up watching 4 episodes of Jessie to appease little boys (even though there was a way cooler medusa vs perseus movie playing on the upstairs TV).
I am grateful for caveman brother who………who……hold on……I must be able to think of one thing……Aha! He plays soccer with my boys every once in a while and is our airport limo driver should immigrant parents not be around. And as a result…..
has become my eldest’s favourite saying.
I am also blessed to have such a thoughtful sister who’s living in my dream continent and is 90 minutes away (pick any direction you like), to adventure, history and jaw dropping beauty. Currently on her honeymoon in Majorca and Paris, she’s selflessly sending us pictures vivid enough for me to pretend I’m there too. Trying to push her off her bike.
And finally, I am eternally grateful for the two little gentlemen in my life. Even though they really are
I wouldn’t have it any other way. For my youngest to be able to go from his constant state of:
to a calm and focused state of:
means that self control IS possible!!! And for this, we are all eternally grateful for!
